Modalities

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue Massage reaches deeper layers of muscles. By exploring past the depth of more superficial tissue, we can better target the root of pain or dysfunction.  This modality does not need to be intimidating.  Deep layers can be approached gently.

Swedish Massage / Relaxation

Applied with lighter to medium pressure, relaxation techniques are used to melt away muscle tension, decrease stress, encourage toxin release, increase circulation, and enhance quality of sleep.

Myofascial Release

Fascia is commonly referred to as our body's  "connective tissue system".  It is an uninterrupted web from head to toe, connecting each part in the body to every other part.  Myofascial Release uses light, sustained pressure to delve into the tissue's fascial restrictions, guiding gentle release of those constraints and alleviating or eliminating pain and restoring motion.  This technique requires direct contact to the skin without the use of cream or lotion.

Neuromuscular Therapies

Neuromuscular therapy includes a variety of techniques that aim to treat underlying causes of chronic pain or  soft tissue dysfunctions involving muscular and nervous systems (such as trigger points, nerve impingement/compression, etc.)

Prenatal Massage

Massage during pregnancy provides many benefits to mom and is also beneficial to baby!  Research supports that regular massage for mom can help create a more peaceful and nutrient-rich environment for baby, and helps reduce the risk of premature delivery.  Special care is utilized in safely positioning expectant mothers to maximize comfort, while addressing the unique needs of her changing body and relieving mental and physical fatigue associated with pregnancy.

MPS Therapy (Dolphin Neurostim)

Micro-current Point Stimulation is a unique therapy that can provide great relief to those suffering from acute or chronic pain.   Using a low level of direct electrical current (designed to mimic the same level of electrical current present naturally within the body).  Discuss with your therapist if this tool may be beneficial for you.
